The round French 8-day movement strikes the hours and half hours on a cast and polished bell using a rack striking system. It has an anchor escapement. The 4"enamel dial has roman chapters, a fine fast slow adjuster above the number 12 and moonpoise hands. The case is gilt brass the gilding is original and in good condition with contrasting mat and shiny finish. The dial is surrounded with oak leafs and acorns. The clock sits on its original gilt wood base with red cloth (some wear to cloth) the whole sits under an oval glass dome, a lot of these clocks have lost their domes.
